The Saginaw County Republican Party, under the leadership of Chair Lori Patterson, strongly condemns the alleged actions of Jayden Scott in perpetrating malicious and unlawful deepfake content targeting Republican State Senate candidate Jason Tunney.
“These alleged actions represent a deliberate attempt to mislead voters and undermine confidence in our special election,” said Patterson. “The use of deepfakes to inject deception and extremism into our civic process is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated. Free and fair elections depend on honesty, respect for the rule of law, and a shared commitment to truth.”
“We appreciate the proactive and professional response of the Michigan State Police in investigating this matter,” Patterson continued. “Their swift involvement underscores the seriousness of using deceptive technologies to interfere with our democratic processes.”
The Saginaw County Republican Party remains steadfast in defending election integrity and upholding civil discourse. We call on all participants in the political arena to reject deception, denounce extremism, and engage voters with integrity and respect.
